First Ray Designs

Hi, my name is Arushi. I am a young designer and entrepreneur located in the Bay Area who wanted to create a small business to help teens and children. I have created First Ray Designs as a way to put a smile on children’s faces. Stickers are a mark of everyone's childhood, and I wanted to replicate the joy and conviviality that stickers bring. My products are designed for use by all ages in bullet journals, water bottles, or just to stick on your forehead :)

 

 

I remember my hospital visits when I was young. I didn’t have a major disease, just Fourth-Nerve Palsy, which was mostly cured with therapy and some medication, but as a child, having to go to the hospital so much became quite tiresome. But simple acts of kindness, a sticker and a lollipop, quelled my nerves and reminded me to focus on the positive things. Children staying at hospitals often do not receive these small gifts to remind them of the whimsy of childhood.

 

 

All net proceed from sticker sales at First Ray Designs is being used to benefit children’s hospitals around the country, with 50% specifically benefiting the Recreational Therapy Fun Fund at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Remaining proceeds are being used to donate to St Jude's Children's Hospital. Additionally, I contacted several children's hospitals during COVID-19 pandemic to donate sticker packs, hoping that these small reminders of childhood will be able to bring a smile to the faces of children in hospitals. I am grateful to all the 20+ hospitals all over the nation, who have been accepting the monthly donations and have encouraged me every single time with their kind words, pictures and testimonials.
